Custom Functional Orthotics (insoles)

Custom functional orthotics are individually designed to support the way your feet function during walking, exercise and everyday activity. Dr. Carlos A. Rojas, DPM provides custom functional orthotics in Miami based on each patient’s foot structure, biomechanics, symptoms and activity needs.

Custom Orthotics vs. Over-the-Counter Inserts

Unlike prefabricated shoe inserts, custom functional orthotics are made specifically for the individual patient. The goal is not simply to add cushioning, but to address foot function, improve support and redistribute forces that may contribute to pain or difficulty with activity.

Who Can Benefit From Custom Functional Orthotics?

Custom functional orthotics may be recommended when foot mechanics or alignment contribute to pain, instability or difficulty with activity. They can also be useful for selected athletes and active patients when additional biomechanical support is appropriate.

  • Heel and arch pain
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Flat feet and excessive pronation
  • Recurring foot or ankle discomfort
  • Selected sports and running-related problems
  • Pain associated with prolonged standing or walking
  • Certain alignment and biomechanical problems

Designed for Your Feet and Your Activity

Every patient has different biomechanics, footwear and activity demands. The orthotic evaluation considers your symptoms, foot structure, walking mechanics and the activities you want to perform. The goal is to create an individualized device rather than use a one-size-fits-all approach.

Dr. Carlos A. Rojas, DPM provides custom functional orthotic evaluations at his Miami office at 8740 N Kendall Dr Ste 107. If foot pain, biomechanics or recurring problems are limiting your walking, work, exercise or sports, an evaluation can help determine whether custom functional orthotics are appropriate for you.
